Corals are marine invertebrates. This fossil specimen is a Colonial Rugose Coral named Arachnophylum sp. from Morocco, that lived in the Devonian period which spanned around 419.2 – 358.9 million years ago (mya)! These fossils are often surface weathered, revealing lots of detail such as individual chambers, as well as growth lines on the reverse. Some have been hand polished which helps define that fine detail & intensify its natural colours.
