Cinnabar is the common ore of mercury. As the most common source of mercury in nature, cinnabar has been mined for centuries, even as far back as the Neolithic Age. During the Roman Empire it was mined both for its red pigment and for its mercury content.
**Warning: Cinnabar contains Mercury which can cause serious health issues if not handled correctly. Handle with great care, wear gloves at all times and store in a safe location.
