Merycoidodontoidea, often referred to as Oreodont (meaning Mountain Teeth) or Ruminating Hog is a prehistoric, cud-chewing, hog like with a short face and fang-like canine teeth. Most oreodonts were sheep-sized, though some genera grew to the size of cattle! They were heavy-bodied, with short four-toed hooves and comparatively long tails.
