The mineral Pyrite, orΒ Iron Pyrite, also known asΒ Fool’s Gold, is an iron sulfide. This mineral’s metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool’s gold.
